Can't find a Soup Beans recipe... Please help?

I'm looking to make some soup beans and ham with cornbread. I've searched up and down online and can't find anything besides bean soup for the most part, which is not what I want. I'd like to make them in the crock pot but don't have a clue where to start? I don't even know what kind of beans to use... I'm thinking er beans? If anyone has a recipe for soup beans they're willing to let me try it would be a great help!
