I got like no answers so far, please help! i'm sure you've been through it.?

okay i thought i was over this..for some reason i thought focusing on school would take drama and boys out of my life..but it never does, does it? i was just at my friends superbowl party. two of my guy friends went and two of my best girl friends were there as well. one of them hit it off with my friend and it was cute. but the other guy who came..well lets just say i've liked him for a while but he was going out with someone. they broke up and hes been trying to get a girlfriend...sounds great right? WRONG. my other good friend is the hugest flirt i know. i swear she has like 10 guys like her right now..and me, well i've never even had a boyfriend before. and i'm 17. us 3 left the party for a bit to go to wegmans and of course she was flirting with him..and told me later that she has a small crush on him. even though she has a "small crush" on like every guy i know. i love her to death, and i know she wouldnt mind if i went for him. but it's like..idk how. i cant compete. she was sitting there talking about her guy problems (with the ones that like her) and i had nothing to say. she was all flirting, and i didnt know what to do. i am a prude, not even gonna lie. but i really do like him. HELP
