Why can I not see that bright star anymore???

The brightest thing in the sky at 10pm these nights is Jupiter and it's in the southwest almost setting by then. Sirius doesn't rise until early morning, and Venus, the only star-like object that is brighter also doesn't rise until early morning. I'm not entirely sure what it was you saw.
